Archaebacteria- This bacteria is unicellular and lives in extreme habitats. It was one of the first organisms to inhabit to the earth. This bacteria can live without oxygen. There are three different types of archaebacteria.
  • Thermophiles- heat lovers.
  • Methanogens- produce methane gas.
  • Halophiles- salt lovers.

Eubacteria- This is a very common bacteria that is used in food making. It a decomposer and can cause diseases. Most use oxygen but few can live in the presence of oxygen.
  • Bioremediation- bacteria that eat oil spills.
